"Testing, Testing, 1, 2, 3 ..."

Fiddling around with templates. Do not be alarmed if your computer starts flashing weird colours at you, jumps up and down, or attacks the postman.

Don't want to change things too much; that would be weird and uncomfortable. But at least I've got lower case in the titles now. Those upper-case titles were really starting to tick me off. It's like some idiot screaming at your face all day, every day. Also, umlauts! I will die a little happier, knowing that I have achieved what some people only dream of - having a blog where you can use umlauts.

The quote-generator will be back in a few days, hopefully.

UPDATE! - The links are here! Now if someone can just tell me how to get this blog to accept html tags, or, alternatively, how to do links in this new weird XTML language...

What bloody colours?

It's all white and a tinkling of black font, like after a snow storm when all the ants come out to play.

Colours?

Flashing?

Weird colours?

*Snort*

I can but wish.

Ugh, the links have gone! I'll have to raid elsewhere! How bloody irritating!

It's all right, they're just in storage. They were getting rather long - thought of putting them away in an archived post to clean up the front page.

Then again, there IS a lot of space at the left-hand side. Could be a spot for some links.

I'll keep tinkering, all will be back in working order in a few days.

I should have added: I'll have to do something else at work! Argh!

TimT said...

Does it matter awfully if they're on the main page? The tend to clutter the view up a bit, is all.

nailpolishblues said...

*sigh* I'll manage...

Caz said...

Hmm, no, they don't clutter Tim, I only notice them if I'm off looking for a blog that you link to.

The sparce modern look is, perhaps, not as homely as we're used to.

The blog title - all in caps - is annoying me. I need to change that post haste. I think I can get the links working again. Maybe a typewriter in the top somewhere, I've always wanted an illustrative image like that.

I'll take homely as a compliment, but to be truly me, I think this blog needs to have lots of old newspapers and magazines and books scattered all over the place. And some coffee.

Yes, Tim, be more homely.

Here's some homelies for you.

nailpolishblues said...

What have I done to deserve homilies?

TimT said...

Good question. It's a homily anomaly, if you will.

nailpolishblues said...

A nap would be more productive than a homily.

Caz said...

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Funny buggers, the both of you.

I did, of course, mean "homey", notwithstanding that there are no scatter cushions.

*Hint, hint*

nailpolishblues said...

Yeah, Tim, scatter cushions - that way I can nap in comfort.

A homely homily:

I had three chairs in my house; one for solitude, two for friendship, three for society. When visitors came in larger and unexpected numbers there was but the third chair for them all, but they generally economized the room by standing up. It is surprising how many great men and women a small house will contain.

- Thoreau, an unaccommodating fellow if ever there was one.

He's doing better then me. I have one couch and three [cheap] dining table chairs. But then, I have panic attacks over the mere idea of other people coming into my house.

Caz said...

Nails - ah, we are kindred spirits.

Although - *cough* - I only own even numbers of things, so I have two high back dining chairs, with off-white damask covers. Upstairs I have two genuine suede chairs, dark caramel colored, which can be transported downstairs, if the very worst should happen and more than one person turns up expecting to sit at the table.

I do permit visitors to sit on the couch, begrudgingly.

nailpolishblues said...

Some years ago [er, five] I borrowed the table and chairs from a cousin. The whole time I've wondered what he did with the other chair and if it would be rude of me to ask for it.

TimT said...

Surely one slouches on couches, rather than sits on them?

I'm doing it right now!

Caz said...

I'm not a visitor, so I get to slouch and put my feet on the coffee table.

I also nap on the couch, when the inclination takes me. My visitors, not so much.
