Non-sequiturs speak louder than words

Harriet just used my tracksuit pants as a scratching post, while I was in them. In response, I put on a CD of Lutoslawski and Bartok and turned on the most atonal track I could find.

The catterpillars have been chewing on my spinach plants, and I've doused those plants with a concoction of chilli and garlic water.

But will music soothe or further inflame your savage and apparently scracthy beast?

I have seen those cats sleep through classical music, pre-classical music, classical rock music, and miscellaneous. Frankly I think it doesn't bother them in the slightest, so they'll go on using my leg as a scratching post no matter what I do. Such is life.
